European Christmas Markets

🎄Christmas Market Cruise

December 2-9, 2024

12/2 Monday: travel

12/3 Tuesday: Frankfurt

We started our day jet lagged and walking Frankfurt Germany, known as the “Mainhattan” of Europe. We ended the day in Wiesbaden at the Sternschnuppenmarkt aka the Twinkling Star Christmas Market.

12/4 Wednesday: Wertheim

Today was short & sweet. A leisure walk through Wertheim Wertheim was a friendly slow-paced small-town where all the locals know each other. I heard the term “bucket s#%tter” a few too many times but enjoyed the stories.

12/5 Thursday: Wurzburg

Today we roamed the Würzburg Residence, a lavish palace and then we visited the small village of Aschfeld. Ending the day at the Christmas Market. Magical! 🌟

12/6 Friday: Rothenburg

We braved the rain wind and cold to visit Rothenburg. This city looks straight out of the pages of a Hansel & Gretel storybook. Charming is the only way to describe it.

We found our souvenirs at the Kathe Wohlfahrt Christmas store. (My mom would have LOVED that store). We dined at a darling restaurant called Ratsstube.

12/7 Saturday: Bamburg

Today we walked Bamburg, which is a German city that basically survived WWII bombing almost unscathed. A darling little city with the cutest buildings. We ate lunch at the Ringlein Restaurant and immediately ran in the rain to catch our ride back to the river boat.

12/8 Sunday: Nuremberg

Loved strolling through Nuremberg. We are told it has the largest and grandest Christmas Market in all of Germany so we did lots of shopping! Aaron will spend the rest of the day seeing the WWII Nuremberg Memoriam
