Our Favorite Tradition is spending Aaron's Birthday in Maui
We traveled from Utah to Maui on Friday January 18th. We stayed at our normal spot at Honua Kai. ($2940) I never remember to take good pics of the hotel.
Aaron kept calling our rental car ($394) a POS. I hadn't heard the term but figured it out fast.
It was covered in dings.
Saturday we hit the farmer's market for açaí bowls ($12) and watched the Whales.
We ate at Fleetwoods for dinner ($123 swordfish wasn't my fav)
Sunday we saw Jesus at Amigos and got ceviche ($16) so we could enjoy the Football Games
We tried my sister Ashley's favorite lava shrimp at Down the Hatch for lunch ($43) yum!
And stopped at Maui Pineapple for dessert ($15)
Monday Utah got a BLIZZARD!
while I got mac pancakes at Dukes ($35)with coconut syrup that was to die for!!
While the kids shoveled school all day we watched whales ($128)

We treated ourselves to Bayan Ice Cream ($15) I had the flavor Haupia - so yummy!
We ate dinner at Ruth Chris to celebrate Aaron turning 45!
Tuesday Aaron went scuba diving ($80).
His knee is bothering him and he didn't feel great.
Lunch was at Dukes ($44)
Because Hula Pie makes everything better.
We napped at the pool before getting ready to go to dinner with Tim and Louise Craig
while at dinner I received a message from my sister Jenn.
Her son-in-law, my nephew's mom died suddenly. It was a sad sad night. My heart broke. As much as I love being in Maui and having the carefree vacation feeling, it was hard to not be overwhelmed with so much sadness.
Wednesday we had a slow day at the beach.
then walked Front Street to get our minds off of Josh's mom
(and the fact that my boys got their report cards.)
we ate at Amigos again.
Aaron got really sick. I felt horrible for him and he worried he was ruining my vacation. He is truly the kindest man I know. who gets sick and worries about everyone else happiness?
Thursday we shopped and ate dinner at Lahaina Fish Co ($91) my FAVORITE!
Friday we ate at Dukes ($43)
And ended our vacation at Lahaina Pizza Co. before catching a flight home.
